PMH Research Fellow receives Fulbright Award

Stuart Kandell, Ph.D, Research Fellow in the Program for Medical Humanities, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award. He will travel to Japan and then to Germany to conduct research in the field of creative aging, interviewing older artists in each country. He recently returned from a research tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. In September, he was a featured presenter at the First International Conference on Arts and Aging in Washington, D.C. And in November, was a keynote presenter at the International Arts and Health Conference in Sydney, Australia. For most of his career, he founded and directed the Stagebridge Theatre of older adults in Oakland.
