Registered Nurse (RN) (1983)

My PhD project is an empirical study of (potential) changes of the everyday working life of Danish Public Health nurses and how these changes may affect their professional identity and/or their notion of professionalism.

The empirical material includes documents as well as ethnographical field studies (observational studies, focus group interviews and SnapLog – an experimental qualitative method) carried out in five Danish municipalities.

I am inspired by classical Actor-Network Theory (Latour and Callon), Biopolitics (Foucault) and feministic theory (Karen Barad).

While at Berkeley I will be occupied with an early process of writing (I’m going to deliver my thesis in May 2014). However, I consider a possible stay at Berkeley as a unique opportunity of discussing my project and networking with other PhD students and scholars.
