Research Areas

My research explores the politics of nuclear waste management at Washington State's Hanford Nuclear Reservation. I am particularly interested in the social and scientific making of "permissible exposure," and how suffering bodies, contaminated lands, and nuclear materials are understood within the multiple frameworks of ecological science, medicine, environmental activism, and bureaucratic administration. This project is funded by the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
