On April 6th, 2009 the L’Aquila Earthquake devastated central Italy. Stunningly, scientists and engineers were detained and charged with the resulting manslaughter. The L’Aquila Earthquake provides an opportunity to explore the intersection of scientific knowledge, politics, and public perception. Please join us for lunch and a discussion with Professor Massimo Mazzotti of the History Department.
