This workshop will consist of a series of scholarly exchanges with senior scholars, post-doc scholars and advanced doctoral candidates in the area of valuation studies at Berkeley’s Center for Science, Technology, Medicine, & Society (CSTMS) and with scholars affiliates with the University of Oslo’s Centre for Technology, Innovation, and Culture (TIK Centre and the Faculty of Medicine). The workshop will focus particularly on the comparative exchange of emergent work and on-going projects on the practices and processes of valuation. In particularly, the emphasis will be on exchanging “work in progress” that focuses on:

1) Developing methodologies and approaches for new forms of interdisciplinary analysis at intersections of e.g. anthropology, STS, innovation studies, medicine, and history;

2) Exchanging ideas and concrete experiences with regard to sites that are fruitful for understanding processes and practices of valuation and their implications.
