New Fellowship Program: Disruptions in Science & Society at Leibniz University Hannover

The Leibniz Center for Science and Society (LCSS) at Leibniz Universitat Hannover (LUH), located in Hannover, Germany, invites international researchers in the field of science studies and higher education research for research stays of 1-18 months in our new fellowship programme “Disruptions in Science and Society” (DISSS). We award fellowships for projects in cooperation with researchers at LCSS. This can include, for example, book projects, journal publications, project proposals, or projects in science communication. Projects should focus on the critical examination of disruptions, i.e., recent societal crises or transformations affecting the relationship of science and society.

We are looking for:

  • Established researchers (3-11 years since the PhD), and
  • Leading researchers (on permanent positions)

with a demonstrable track record in science studies or higher education research. Fellows must have spent at least 12 of the last 18 months outside of Germany.

We offer:

  • Flexible research fellowships for research stays of 1-18 months
  • A monthly fellowship of 3,000 € (established researchers) or 3,500 € (leading researchers)
  • Additional allowances for travel, mobility, and accompanying family members
  • Dedicated office space in the new research building “Forum Wissenschaftsreflexion" at LUH
  • An excellent environment within the interdisciplinary research community at LCSS Applications
