Ari S Edmundson will be teaching DATA C204 / History 254: Human Contexts and Ethics of Data this Fall semester: August 27 – December 12, 2025. This course will be held in Dwinelle 204, on Tuesdays, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
This course teaches you to use approaches from the across the humanities and interpretive social sciences and tools of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) to recognize, analyze, and shape the human contexts, social implications, and ethics of data and data technologies, including data analytics, algorithmic decision systems, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI).
This course is open to graduate students in both STEM and social science/humanities/professional disciplines. Undergraduates will be considered at the discretion of the instructor.
