Curriculum Vitae (Ploder)

Andrea received her PhD in Philosophy with High Honors from Graz University. She studied Sociology, Philosophy, and Law, was a research associate and lecturer at Graz and Salzburg University, a visiting student researcher at UC Berkeley, and a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago, TU Berlin, and Frankfurt University. In her PhD dissertation (2017) she investigated the history of qualitative research in the German speaking countries, in her MA thesis (2012) she reconstructed the influence of Edmund Husserl on qualitative research.

Currently, Andrea is a member of the Collaborative Research Center “Media of Cooperation” and a research associate at the department of Science, Technology and Media Studies at Siegen University. While in Berkeley, she will work with unpublished papers, notes, and voice recordings from the Harold Garfinkel Archive in Newburyport/Massachusetts.

She was previously affiliated with CSTMS: August – November 2014.
