Cansu's academic research interests lie at the intersection of Science and Technology Studies (STS), Entrepreneurial Studies, and Feminist TechnoScience. Her Ph.D. thesis focuses on (re)configuring entrepreneurship, the future of work in the entrepreneurial techno-cultures and diversity in tech, paying special attention to start-up and digital cultures. She has been active in the translation of STS and is the co-founder of Iris, a Turkish online STS Encyclopedia.

Cansu is a fellow at San Francisco State University’s STS Hub. She is also a member of the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST), Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) and the network of STS Turkey.

Since September 2019, she is visiting the Center for Science, Technology, Medicine, and Society at the University of California, Berkeley. As a part of her visit, she is writing her dissertation and conducting fieldwork in the Bay Area on the use of technology in co-living and co-working spaces.
