Maryam Firoozi is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University. Her research interests are in the intersection between corporate governance mechanisms, corporate disclosure, and information technology. Her current research mainly focuses on the impact of digitalization and automation on corporate governance and corporate disclosure. Her research is published in peer-reviewed business journals such as Accounting, Auditing & Accountability JournalBritish Journal of ManagementCorporate Governance: An International Review, and Journal of Information Systems. Her research has been funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), CPA Canada-CAAA research grant and PARG-CPA Ontario. She has presented her research in several domestic and international conferences such as the American Accounting Association Annual Conference, the Canadian Academic Accounting Association Annual Conference, the European Accounting Association Annual Congress, and the Center for Social and Environmental Accounting Research Conference, among others.
