Dr. Barker is a historian of the molecular biology and biophysics of aging.

He also works on the philosophy of artificial intelligence and on human rights.

He is at the Center for Science, Technology, Medicine & Society to research the historiography of the Meselson-Stahl experiment, how paradigms from Cold War international relations and industry affect how we evaluate the risks and benefits of artificial intelligence, and violence in relationships.

Crispin is originally from Canada. He has lectured at UC Berkeley, the University of Zurich, and the University of Lucerne.
