Working Group
The History of Science / Science and Technology Studies Working Group meets regularly to discuss ongoing research and other projects. The Working Group brings together an interdisciplinary group of graduate students, visiting scholars, and faculty for bi-weekly discussions on history of science and science and technology studies research. Common topics include key and novel papers in the field, in-progress dissertations, visiting scholars’ research, etc. This working group is not intended for formal presentations—no power points, rather we encourage participants to discuss their current research informally. The group provides a community forum and venue for conversation, and supportive critique.
In addition to regular meetings, CSTMS colloquium speakers are often invited to hold a master class with the working group during the week of their presentation. This is a great opportunity to engage in conversation with the Center’s invited speakers.
If you would like to join us, please sign up for our email list.
The first working group meeting will be on Thursday, September 21st, 12-2 pm. We will introduce the group and then discuss a paper by (and with) Christoffer Leber from Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich.
