Professor of Public Health, San Francisco State University

Laura Mamo will be discussing her latest book, “Sexualizing Cancer: HPV and the Politics of Cancer Prevention“. She is a Professor of Public Health and Director of the Health Equity Institute at San Francisco State University.

In her book talk, Laura Mamo will discuss how the scientific search for a viral cause of cancer transformed not only how we think about and prevent cancer, but how we think about the relationships among sex, sexuality, and health in the broadest sense.
