Julia Tomasson
Doctoral Candidate in the Department of History, Columbia University

The presenter for the upcoming workshop on December 11th will be Julia Tomasson, a Doctoral Candidate at Columbia University. She will be presenting her draft: “Polygons, Polyphony, and Many-Sided Histories of Mathematics: Tracing Euclidean and non-Euclidean Geometry in the Post-classical Islamicate World.”

The STS/ HST workshops focus on providing a safe and relaxed atmosphere for all to present their research, get feedback, and build an interdisciplinary community of visiting scholars, visiting student researchers, and graduate students across UC Berkeley. The workshops will be held bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 470 Stephens Hall between 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
