Dear all,

Welcome to another exciting semester at the Center for Science, Technology, Medicine, and Society! It is my pleasure to serve as Acting Director for the Center this year and to welcome you all back in person. As a historian of medicine and gender in the History Department, I have been a member of our community for several years and I look forward to exchanging ideas and expanding our scope in the coming year. 
As we go forward, we have scheduled a mix of in-person, zoom, and hybrid events and we are looking forward to reconnecting with our community at UC Berkeley and beyond. We have an exciting set of speakers in our semester colloquium (tentative schedule below), along with a variety of other activities, research, and courses. We welcome new and returning visiting scholars and STS Designated Emphasis Ph.D. students.
