Please join UC Santa Cruz’s Science & Justice Research Center to hear from the prime movers in efforts to create just and equitable research systems that foster innovation and at the same time create trustworthy sciences, technologies, and societies. This event celebrates the launch of the Leadership in the Equitable and Ethical Design of STEM Research Initiative (LEED of STEM), an initiative that originated with the Science & Justice Research Center at UC Santa Cruz. Founding Director and Professor of Sociology Jenny Reardon will be in conversation with Harvard University Professor of the History of Science Evelynn Hammonds, UC Santa Cruz Assistant Professor of Biomolecular Engineering Karen Miga, Northwestern University Professor of Communication Studies and Medill School of Journalism, and the immediate past Division Director of Social and Economic Sciences at the National Science Foundation Ray Fouché, and University of Alberta Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Peoples, Technoscience, and Society Kim TallBear (HistCon ’05 PhD).
