The STS/ HST workshops focus on providing a safe and relaxed atmosphere for all to present their research, get feedback, and build an interdisciplinary community of graduate students across UC Berkeley. The workshops will be held bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 470 Stephens Hall between 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

The presenter for the upcoming workshop on November 8th will be Ricky Wichum, a sociologist who teaches the History of Technology at ETH Zurich. He will discuss his draft: “Identity, Statehood, and Computer Sciences. A History of the Social Security Number in Switzerland (1960-1980).”
